Management and supervision of the Erwin Bowien e.V. Friends Association - The Guardian of Erwin Bowien's Legacy
The Friends of Erwin Bowien have been in existence since 1976, the year of its foundation in the old German Blade Museum in Solingen, now the site of the Solingen Art Museum. Even during his lifetime, it was Erwin Bowien's wish to keep his life's work permanently alive in the public's consciousness. For this purpose, he proposed to found a circle of friends. This wish was to be fulfilled through the commitment of his student Bettina Heinen-Ayech.
Soon, lively activities developed and the balance sheet lists several publications, an annual newsletter and close to thirty exhibitions. Bowien was a true European before his time. The association reflects this spirit. From Algeria to Norway, in all places of creativity, the association has members. The Circle of Friends sees itself as the guardian of Erwin Bowien's legacy.
